Passed the traditional Chinese pailou gate is a little China waiting to be explored. The roads are lined with Chinese-style buildings hanging Chinese signboards and lanterns, and the smell of dumplings and lamb skewers will tickle your appetite. Gonghwachun, the restaurant that invented jjajangmyeon (noodles with black bean sauce), was reborn into a jjajangmyeon museum.

Tip: Dumplings Baked in Earthen Fire Pits

Similar to how naan is cooked, Chinese dumplings are also baked in walls of 200 fire pits. These meat-filled dumplings, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, are one of the most popular snacks in town. Gonggalppang, or balloon bread, and hongdubyeong, Chinese red bean filled buns, are also delicacies of Chinatown.

The row of Japanese-style houses will make you feel as if you’ve traveled time. The Renaissance-style building that was formerly the First Bank of Japan now serves as the Incheon Open Port Museum exhibiting the history of the port. And Incheon Art Platform, which was featured in the popular Korean drama The Goblin (a.k.a. Guardian: the Lonely and Great God), is an artwork of its own.

Once an island, Wolmido is now lined by a strip of seafood restaurants and cafes, and an amuzement park. You should try raw seafood or grilled clams at the ocean-view restaurants, and you should definitely ride the Viking at the amusement park. And a great way to end the day is with fireworks on a cruise ship.
